On the part of the nervous system: drowsiness, confusion, hallucinations, impaired attention (more often in elderly patients), agitation, nervousness, insomnia, coordination dysfunction, tremor.

From the side of the organ of vision: violation of accommodation.

Drug Interaction

Ethanol enhances the sedative effect of antihistamines (pheniramine) and should therefore be avoided during treatment with Fervex®. In addition, ethanol, when used in combination with feniramin, promotes the development of acute pancreatitis.

Phenyramine enhances the effect of sedatives: morphine derivatives, barbiturates, benzodiazepine and other tranquilizers, neuroleptics (meprobamate, phenothiazine derivatives), antidepressants (amitriptyline, mirtazapine, mianserin), hypotension, hypotension , baclofen thus not only increases the sedative effect, but also increases the risk of side effects of the drug (urinary retention, dry mouth, constipation).

Consideration should be given to the possibility of enhancement of central m-cholinoblocking effects when used in combination with other drugs having m-cholinoblocking activity (other histamine H1 receptor blockers, tricyclic antidepressants, neuroleptics, phenothiazinolytic agents, and phenothiazinolytic agents. .

When using the drug together with inducers of microsomal oxidation: barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, anticonvulsants (phenytoin), flumecinol, phenylbutazone, rifampicin and ethanol, significantly increases the risk of hepatotoxic action (paratholysis).

GCS, when used at the same time, increase the risk of developing glaucoma.

Together with salicylates increases the risk of nephrotoxicity.

When used with chloramphenicol (levomycetin), the toxicity of the latter increases.

Paracetamol enhances the effect of indirect anticoagulants and reduces the effectiveness of uricosuric drugs.

Ascorbic acid increases the concentration in the blood of benzylpenicillin and tetracyclines at a dose of 1 g / day increases the bioavailability of ethinyl estradiol (including part of oral contraceptives).

Ascorbic acid improves the absorption of iron preparations in the intestine (converts trivalent iron into divalent) can increase iron excretion when used concurrently with deferoxamine.

Ascorbic acid reduces the effectiveness of heparin and indirect anticoagulants.

When used with acetylsalicylic acid (ASA), urinary excretion of ascorbic acid is increased and ASA is decreased. ASA reduces the absorption of ascorbic acid by about 30%. Increases the risk of crystalluria when treated with short-acting salicylates and sulphonylamides, slows the elimination of kidneys by acids, increases the excretion of drugs that have an alkaline reaction (including alkaloids), reduces the concentration of oral contraceptives in the blood.

Ascorbic acid increases the overall clearance of ethanol, which in turn reduces the concentration of ascorbic acid in the body.

Quinoline drugs, calcium chloride, salicylates, GCS with long-term use depletes ascorbic acid.

When used concurrently, ascorbic acid reduces the chronotropic action of isoprenaline.

With prolonged use or high doses, ascorbic acid may interfere with the interaction of disulfiram and ethanol.

At high doses, ascorbic acid increases the excretion of mexiletine by the kidneys.

Barbiturates and primidone increase the excretion of ascorbic acid in the urine.

Ascorbic acid reduces the therapeutic effect of neuroleptics, phenothiazine derivatives, tubular reabsorption of amphetamine and tricyclic antidepressants.

overdose Symptoms due to paracetamol

Toxicity may cause overdose, especially in elderly patients, children, patients with liver disease (caused by chronic alcoholism), in patients with malnutrition, and in patients receiving inducers of microsomal liver enzymes, which may develop light-hearted hepatitis, liver failure, cholestatic hepatitis, occasionally - sometimes fatal. The threshold for overdose in these categories of patients may be lower. The clinical picture of acute overdose develops within 24 hours after administration of paracetamol.

Symptoms: gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, feeling of abdominal discomfort and (or) abdominal pain), pallor of the skin. At a single injection in adults of 7.5 g or more or in children over 140 mg / kg cytolysis of hepatocytes occurs with complete irreversible liver necrosis, the development of liver failure, metabolic acidosis and encephalopathy, which can lead to coma and death. 12-48 h after the introduction of paracetamol increased activity of microsomal liver enzymes, lactate dehydrogenase, bilirubin concentration and prothrombin concentration decrease. Clinical symptoms of liver damage appear 2 days after drug overdose and reach a maximum of 4-6 days.

Treatment: Immediate hospitalization. Determination of the amount of paracetamol in the blood plasma before starting treatment at the earliest possible time after overdose. The introduction of SH-group donors and precursors for glutathione synthesis - methionine and acetylcystine - is most effective in the first 8 h. The need for additional therapeutic measures (further administration of methionine, in / in the introduction of acetylcysteine) is determined depending on the concentration of paracetamol in the blood, as well as the time elapsed after its introduction. Symptomatic treatment. Laboratory studies of the activity of microsomal liver enzymes should be performed at the beginning of treatment and then every 24 hours. In most cases, the activity of microsomal liver enzymes is normalized within 1-2 weeks. In very severe cases, a liver transplant may be required.

Symptoms caused by the action of ascorbic acid

Symptoms: nausea, diarrhea, irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa, flatulence, abdominal pain of spastic nature, frequent urination, nephrolithiasis, insomnia, irritability, hypoglycemia.

Treatment: discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Treatment is symptomatic, forced diuresis.

Symptoms caused by the action of feniramine

Symptoms: convulsions, disturbances of consciousness, coma.

Treatment: Immediately discontinue use of the drug and consult a physician. Gastric lavage, intake sorbents (activated charcoal, lignin hydrolysis), I / O or oral administration of an acetylcysteine antidote (if possible, within the first 10 h after overdose), symptomatic treatment is recommended.
